Favorite things this week

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens 🎶 Just kidding. But seriously, here are a few of the things I am loving this week:

The Hypervolt Go (found here) - helping me loosen up knots in my neck and my soleus - places where I tend to hold stress) and the Acumobility ball (found here) to help me with ankle mobility.

I finally changed out my Powerstep orthotics this week (even I am guilty of wearing them too long). They make such a difference in my foot health. No more arch pain. Plantar Fasciitis is not something with which you want to mess! $41.95 a pair. (Found here)

Some newly released books from Olympians Alexi Pappas and Emma Coburn. I am deep into Bravey and loving Alexi's beautiful story of her life so far. Emma's cookbook is so amazing. Check out my IG live review of it here and a cooking demo of her Runner's Carbonara recipe *chef's kiss*. You can purchase Alexi's book here and Emma's cookbook here or your local bookseller.

The Torin 4.5 Plush by Altra ($139.99). I am loving the extra cushion of these shoes for my easy runs, warm ups before track workouts, and recovery walks around the neighborhood with the dog. So light and comfortable. Available in men's and women's sizes here and here.

Improving my sleep habits is one of my goals for 2021. These Nuun Rest tablets are helping me achieve that goal (8 hours last night!) These tablets dissolve in your waterbottle - like this fabulous Sunshine State Goods one - and contain electrolytes such as Potassium and Magnesium that have been shown to help improve sleep. Plus the blackberry vanilla flavor is delicious. Waterbottle ($28) available here and Nuun ($6.95) available here.

This is a brand new podcast (only two episodes so far), but I'm hooked! If you love the cover story from Vogue (excellent writing and fascinating people - not really about fashion a) each month, give this a listen. Each one is 22-30 mins long, so perfect for quick garage gym workouts/commutes/dog walks/dinner prep/adult bedtime stories.

Running dates with friends! Socializing is tricky these days (we wore masks while inside) but it is still very important to schedule in fun. No one likes a burned out runner/person. Here Lydia and I are warming up after a beautiful run in the Avondale neighborhood in Jacksonville with some coffee at Southern Grounds. I highly recommend this turmeric latte with oatmeal milk. It is rather fancy, but very satisfying and turmeric helps reduce inflammation!

Stay well, FitFooters!

Betsy
